The design of this custom 1187 SSB started with the specs and features of the No. 47 Anniversary model with respect to neck, fret board, frets and fret markers, hand laid bowl, bridge, headstock, binding, color and finish, 13 piece epaulets, and construction. It was then changed as follows:
Super shallow bowl
Cutaway
Single epaulet (because Ovation had no 13 piece epaulet mold for a cutaway model)
Op Pro Studio preamp with XLR output
DiMeola Boost button
Heavy multicolored flake finish on bowl
To my knowledge, it it the only custom guitar Ovation ever made in this configuration.
